First Telescope adapted to TCS

Obstech’s Telescope Control System® (TCS) can work into newly built systems, as the one currently at work at Sirene, France, and on already existing ones in order to have them working as robotic. The novel, compact and reliable system is provided in the shape of a box and, after some mechanical adjustments, can be used both in AltAz and in equatorial mounts.

ObsTech SpA has recently won the prize to the “Most Innovative Spin-off company” form Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile. This recognition adds up to previous prizes received at botyh sides of the Atlantic, such as the “Most investable start-up company” at ACCEL2UPC competition in Barcelona, Spain, and the “2nd Intellectual Property Competition” in Santiago, Chile

Seeing measurements

First seeing measurement campaign was lead at the  site where ObsTech telescopes will be placed  for during march and april 2014. Results show a sub-arcsecond median seeing over the whole campaign! Additionaly, sky transparency and  atmospheric quality may be seen to be exceptional, corresponding to a high, dry, no light pollution environment. This is expected to enable extremely high quality pictures to all ObsTech telescope users.
